Kladno

In its judgment, the Supreme Administrative Court ruled in favour of the Statutory City of Kladno, which was successfully represented by Weinhold Legal, in a dispute concerning transport services on intercity bus routes. This is a unique case in which the court has for the first time laid down clear rules regarding the provision and financing of transport services by the Region and the municipalities in its district.

Central European Media Enterprises (ČNTS)

In relation to TV Nova’s operations, Weinhold Legal provided comprehensive legal advice and opinions on various aspects of the television broadcasting business in the Czech Republic, including a detailed review of contractual arrangements and proposed restructuring of operations. Subsequent work included negotiations, litigation and litigation support regarding various claims by our client. One of the five largest banks

Weinhold Legal successfully represented one of the Czech Republic’s five largest banks in relation to multiple legal disputes launched by organised group of customers in relation to alleged illegal nature of certain bank charges. Several hundred thousand customers of Czech banks were incited by collection agencies to request a back-payment of bank charges which they voluntarily paid in several preceding years. The success of the bank has been approved by Supreme Court and Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic.

Ministry of Finance Czech Republic

Weinhold Legal was chosen in tender processes launched by the Ministry of Finance to defend the Czech state against four separate claims amounting in a total of billions of Czech crowns. These demanding and prestigious assignments have arisen due to arbitrations initiated by claimants on the basis of bilateral international treaties on the protection of investments. We successfully represented the Czech Republic in international arbitration proceedings initiated based on the Czech-German bilateral investment treaty, based on the Czech-Cypriot treaty on investment protection and based on the Czech-Dutch treaty on investment protection.
