Weinhold Legal, s.r.o., a law firm with its registered office at Na Florenci 2116/15, Nové Město, 110 00 Prague 1, Company ID No.: 25628470, registered in the Commercial Register maintained by the Municipal Court in Prague under file No. C 378231 (hereinafter referred to as “Weinhold Legal”), is a leading Czechoslovak law firm providing high-quality legal services in numerous areas of private and public law.

We believe that the responsible use of personal data collected on our websites and through other sources is extremely important for our business objectives and reputation. As part of our commitment to privacy protection, we have adopted this Data Protection Notice in order to comply with the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (the General Data Protection Regulation) (hereinafter referred to as “GDPR”), as well as applicable legal regulations.

Transparency and purpose of personal data processing

We collect and process your personal data solely for purposes that are necessary for the secure, effective, and efficient pursuit of the business interests of Weinhold Legal and for compliance with legal regulations. We collect only such personal data whose scope and nature are necessary for the relevant purposes and which you provide to us when you contact us via e-mail or other media, such as the forms listed below.

1. Newsletters and other events (legal updates, legal alerts, other newsletters, information related to educational and social events organized by Weinhold Legal)

We want our business partners, clients, and other similar persons to have access to and benefit from our extensive legal and business expertise. Therefore, we regularly publish newsletters (especially legal updates and legal alerts) containing information related to new legislation and newly published case law. We also organize educational and social events or other promotional events for our clients and certain other interested parties.

In this context, we process only the following personal data: first name, last name, and e-mail address for the purpose of informing recipients about developments in the field of law. We are entitled to send newsletters based on your consent (if you subscribe to the newsletters yourself) or on the basis of our legitimate interest arising from an existing or previous business relationship, including your participation in other events organized by us.

We also process telephone data, information about the company you represent, Company ID No. and VAT ID No., for invoicing purposes where paid services or reimbursement of costs are involved.

Within educational and social events, competitions, and recruitment events, we may occasionally take photographs of participants and present them on our websites and social networks. As a rule, we take only group photographs not taken from the front; when announcing competition results, we take photographs of the winners. In these cases, we process the likeness of the event participant.

Data processed for the purposes described above are processed on the basis of performance of a contract or our legitimate interest.

2. Job applicant form

We strive to recruit the most enthusiastic and talented colleagues to our team. Therefore, we welcome applicants providing us with their contact details in the Career section of our websites, together with CVs and cover letters sent via e-mail or even handed over to us in person.

In connection with the above, we collect and process the following personal data: first name, last name, e-mail address, telephone number, and personal data contained in your CV and/or cover letter for the purposes of contacting you and conducting the recruitment process. We are entitled to do so on the basis of our legitimate interest.

3. Information exchanged between the client and legal counsel

When providing legal services to our clients, we may process personal data obtained on behalf of our clients. Although such processing occurs only exceptionally and occasionally, we may process only such personal data that we have obtained from the client or on behalf of the client from third parties. We are entitled to do so in the performance of a contract or on the basis of our legitimate interest.

Time period for processing your personal data

We will retain the personal data you provide only for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes for which the data were collected or for the period required by legal regulations. We do not share your personal data with third parties, except where necessary for the operation of our business activities or where required by you, legal regulations, or other legal procedures. Under no circumstances do we sell your personal data to third parties. If you require further details, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Your data protection rights

In relation to the processing of your personal data, you have the following rights: the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR); the right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR); the right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR); the right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR); the right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR); the right to object (Art. 21 GDPR); and the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority for personal data protection.
