Mgr. Ing. Martin Lukáš

Martin is a partner at Weinhold Legal and head of the firm’s IT and IP group (TMT).

Martin specialises in the areas of corporate law, M&A, litigation and arbitration, IP/IT law, competition law and public procurement.

Martin began to work at Weinhold Legal in 1998 and since that time has participated in a number of major projects. He has been involved in work for major international and Czech institutions and companies including among others: Lagardére Travel Retail, Resistant AI, ThreatMark, Amundi, Leo Mobility, Credendo – Trade Credit Insurance, Renomia, Enetiqa,  LAMA ENERGY GROUP, National Medical Verification Organisation, Pluxee, Chropyňská strojírna Group, Vinci Construction, Wienerberger, Volný.cz, Lorenc Logistics, etc.

Martin has participated in several legislative initiatives. Among other things, he co-operated on a project that resulted in a study for the European Commission, which examined the implementation and functioning of European companies („Societas Europaea“ – SE) in the Member States of the EU/EEA. He was also a member of the expert working groups for local development in preparing amendments to the Public Procurement Act.

Martin has been recognised in leading international legal directories and yearbooks, including Legal 500 (telecommunications, media & technology), European Legal Experts (in the areas of IP, IT, telecommunications and publications), Media Law International (media law) and PLC Which Lawyer? (as a leading lawyer in media & telecommunications and environmental law with regard to renewable energy sources). Martin is also ranked by Managing Intellectual Property IP STARS, the leading specialist guide to IP firms and practitioners worldwide, as the Global IP Star (2016-2020) and Trademark star (2020-2025) for the Czech Republic.

Martin graduated from the University of Economics in Prague in 1998 and from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague in 2000. He is an attorney at law registered since 2003 in the List of Attorneys of the Czech Bar Association.

In addition to his native Czech, Martin is fluent in English and has a working knowledge of French and German.
