JUDr. DANIEL WEINHOLD, Ph.D.

Daniel is the managing partner of the firm.

Daniel specialises in mergers&acquisitions, banking and financial services, restructuring and transformations, litigation and arbitration, commercial and investment disputes and contentious tax issues.

Daniel has been involved in work for major international, Czech and Slovak institutions and companies including among others: ENEL, Vivendi/Veolia, ExxonMobil, Goldman Sachs, Société Générale/KB, ChevronTexaco, General Electric, ČSOB (KBC), Citibank, UniCredit, Hachette, SABMiller/Pilsner Urquell, CME, Vodafone, Skanska, Agip, Czech television, Vinci/Eurovia, Deutsche Bahn, News Corporation, ČS/Erste Bank, Czech Post, Czech Coal, Textron and the Ministries of Defence (Czech), Finance (Czech and Slovak), Transportation (Czech), Interior (Czech), Environment (Czech), Justice (Czech).

Daniel regularly publishes articles in local legal and economic magazines. He is the author of the book "Statute barring and time limitation in commercial legal relationships" published by C.H.Beck, Prague, 2000 (2nd ed. 2002, 3rd ed. 2009), co-author of Czech section of the International Comparative Legal Guides to Mergers & Acquisitions in 2008, 2009, and 2010 as well as being the co-author of the section Corporate Governance 2009. He is the co-author of the chapter Security instruments under Czech law, published by the Financier Worldwide’s 2009 Private Equity e-book. Daniel contributed as a co-author to the overview published under the Country Guide to Slovakia covering Securities & Banking, a publication of Complinet, a Thomson Reuters company.

In addition to lecturing on various topics in commercial law, Daniel makes contributions on a regular basis to both specialist and business publications. He was a member of the Takeover Panel for the Czech Securities Commission and has contributed to various legislative initiatives. Daniel Weinhold is also the chair of the Expert Group of the Public Procurement Platform created in 2010 by the heads of all significant political parties, relevant public institutions and business associations, in an effort to increase the transparency and effectiveness of the public tender process. Daniel was also named a member of the Advice Board of the Minister of the Interior for combating corruption, is a member of the Inter-Agency Coordination Board of the Ministry of the Interior for combating corruption, as well as a member of the Expert Group for Public Procurement of the Minister for Regional Development.

Pav Younis

Pav is a partner and head of the firm’s real estate group.

Pav specialises in real estate, mergers and acquisitions and real estate finance and joined the firm in 1998 after working in London and Hong Kong.

Pav advises a range of local and international real estate investors, developers and banks on corporate real estate and acquisitions, financing and leasing, disposal and leasing structural planning and acquisition and development finance for banks and borrowers. Pav’s clients include: Lighthouse Vltava Waterfront Towers (Real Estate), Red Group, Irish Bank Resolution Corporation, Allied Irish Banks, Bank of Scotland (Ireland) Limited, Investec, McKechnie Group, Avestus (Quinlan Private Golub), Tyco International, Unilever, Citibank, YIT and ORCO Group.

Pav also advises on mergers and acquisitions, corporate re-organisations and restructurings and liquidations mainly for inward investing multinational clients from the United Kingdom, the United States and Western Europe but also for local clients.

JUDr. Thilo Hoffmann

Thilo is a partner and head of the firm’s German Desk.

Thilo specialises in corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, and assists multinational companies established in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. He joined the firm in 2001 after working for Delegations of the European Commission in Central and Eastern Europe.


Thilo has advised a considerable number of leading international companies in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia, mainly from Germany, Austria, Switzerland and France, but also local clients. His clients include among others: Siemens, E.ON, Škoda Auto, Slovak/Deutsche Telekom, Bayer, Robert Bosch, Allianz, Hella, Porsche, Daimler, ACCOR, Remondis, RWE IT, EnBW, Spar and PLUS Discount.


Thilo was a Steering Committee member of the project elaborating a study on the operation and impact of the Statute for a European Company (“Societas Europaea” - SE) in nearly all EU/EEA member states for the European Commission.

Mgr. Milan Polák

Milan is a partner and head of the firm’s dispute resolution and labour law group.

Milan specialises in corporate law, litigation and arbitration and oversees all labour law issues.

Milan joined the firm in 1998, since when he has been involved in work for major international and Czech companies including among others: AHI Group, Aral, Argus Capital, COLAS, Europa Möbel, Gardena, Gramofonové závody, OMV, Park Lane, Pioneer, Plzeňská energetika, Plzeňský Prazdroj, Shell, Wagon Automotive, Winslow Partners, METROSTAV and Komerční banka.

Milan is an arbitrator with the Arbitration Court attached to the Economic and Agricultural Chamber of the Czech Republic, where he determines domestic and international arbitrations under both, the procedural rules of the local court as well as the internationally accepted UNCITRAL and ICC arbitration rules.

Milan is also a member of the expert committee established by the Czech Ministry of Justice in relation to re-codification of civil law and a contributor to the book "Aus- und Absonderungsrechte in der Insolvenz” published by Verlag für Rechts- und Anwaltspraxis, Berlin in 1999.

Milan speaks German and English as well as his native Czech.

Ondřej is a partner at Weinhold Legal.

Ondřej specialises in mergers and acquisitions, real estate and restructuring of business activities in the Czech Republic. He is also an active member of the firm’s German Desk and joined the firm in 1999.


Ondřej has worked on various legal engagements involving mergers and acquisitions (Unipetrol, OMV, ProLogis, Shell, Gardena) and general corporate and commercial advice (Plzeňský Prazdroj, Bohemia Sekt, Aral ČR, Colas, CMG, GZ Digital Media, Wagon Automotive, Select Appointments, Siemens) and real estate acquisitions for a number of companies, including ProLogis.


Ondřej also specialises in litigation/arbitration, having represented the Czech Republic in international investment arbitrations, and a number of significant Czech companies in court disputes with minority shareholders.
